ABOUT KWVS

Originally KWAV, Pepperdine’s on-campus, student-run radio station started in the early 1960’s at George Pepperdine College in Los Angeles.
Now KWVS—KWAV’s successor—provides the opportunity for students, faculty, and interested parties to express their viewpoints, share their musical style, and provide a forum for free expression. We are made of sports, news, and music enthusiasts who love to provide Pepperdine and the Malibu community with the latest and greatest. From Pop, to Indie, to EDM, and Hip Hop, we provide the mood for any college student to vibe to.  As a patron of the arts, KWVS strives to give a platform to the many aspiring artists at Pepperdine University. Whether they be musicians, poets, filmographers, or any other form of expression, KWVS gives voice to those artists who would otherwise not be able to showcase their abilities. We, of course, do not limit our patronage to Pepperdine students, and welcome artists from all of the greater Los Angeles area.
Our station is home to professional radio and broadcasting equipment, housed in Pepperdine’s Center for Communication and Business. Aside from hosting weekly shows available for streaming online, KWVS hosts on-campus events, online concerts via our social media, and participates in giveaways with our loyal KWVS community.
